As one of the oldest towns in the Cape Province, Franshhoek literally means ‘French Corner’ in Afrikaans, and with its rich Huguenot heritage, this name is perfectly apt. The town is surrounded by picturesque mountains, with vineyards, quaint homesteads, pretty gardens and a bustling town centre that further adds to its charm.

Wine Tram Highlights

Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office in the village centre, and cost R220 for adults or R90 for kids between 3 and 17 years of age (toddlers travel free). There are 6 hop-on hop-off lines to choose from, each with different wine estates and activities on offer. Wine tastings at each estate cost between R20 and R50.
